Rodric McClain - LIMHP

Approach to therapy

My clinical approach prioritizes comfort, rapport, and trust in every session. I meet clients where they are in their journey, offering validation while maintaining accountability so that sessions remain both supportive and growth-oriented, with the goal that clients leave each session feeling more grounded than when they arrived.

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Trauma-Informed Care (TIC)

Client focus and style

I work with a broad range of individuals seeking help in navigating emotional, relational, and life challenges, with particular attention to reducing barriers that prevent people from accessing care. As a retired military service member, I work especially well with the military community, including active-duty personnel, National Guard members, veterans, and retirees, and I understand the unique stressors and culture that come with military life. My communication style is direct yet compassionate, honoring each client’s pace while encouraging them to confront obstacles and build a life aligned with their values.

How clients reach goals

I use a collaborative treatment-planning process in which clients play an active role in defining goals and corresponding objectives. Through ongoing assessment, accountability, and scheduled check-ins, I help clients monitor progress and make adjustments as their needs and circumstances change.

Personal journey and first session

My decision to become a mental health provider is rooted in a deep compassion for others and a commitment to being relatable and authentic with every client. In the first session, I will focus on introductions, establishing safety and trust, clarifying the client’s reasons for seeking therapy, and outlining a structured plan for moving forward together.
